About Us

The Guy B Woodward Museum is located at 645 Main Street in Ramona. The museum is devoted to preserving and sharing the history of Ramona.

The Woodard Museum is volunteer run and operated.

Admission:

Admission is $5 per person or $20 per family.

Hours:

We are open on Saturdays from 10:00 – 4:00. Weekday tours, field trips, group tours, and archive research are available by appointment.

For the safety of our volunteers and guests, we are closed during “High Heat Advisories”

The Tours

Admission Includes Both the Guided and Self Guided Tours. The Tours Include:

* The Verlaque House – A seven room 1886 adobe filled with period antiques

* The Wine Cellar Gallery – This large exhibit space includes exhibits on the military, mining, Ramona’s businesses, photography, film, Casey Tibbs, and more!

* The Old Steel Jail – The seven-ton steel jail has served San Diego County since the 1860s

* Wagons, Buggies, Farm Equipment, Tractors, and a Fire Truck 

* Honey House – The 1910 honey house was moved from Hannigan’s site and includes a century’s history of bee keeping and honey production

* Mining Equipment – A great way to learn about Ramona’s mining history

* Bunkhouse, Tack Room, and Blacksmith Shop – These buildings were moved from the Warnock Ranch and show what it was like to live in Ramona in the 1870s

* The One-Room School House – Learn what it was like to be a student at the turn of the 20th century 

* Millinery Shop – This building includes an extensive collection of clothing and historic textiles

Explore a century of toys – Operate a Lionel train, play with toys from the past, make a rag doll, and more!
